Boyle County board approves broad consent agenda; accepts grants and donations, notes abstention on foundation scholarship

The consent agenda included a Kentucky Educational Development Corporation (KEDC) pro-rated membership fee of $2,915.14 (Jan. 1–June 30, 2026), a Campbellsville University student-teacher agreement for 2026, a DanceBlue MOU for a February 2026 event, renewal of the Kentucky Medicaid Partner Portal authorized delegate form, licensing agreement with SWANK Motion Pictures ($1,200 for 2025–26), renewal of Heartland Payment Systems online payment services, and consultant and music instruction contracts. The Hudson-Ellis grant for $7,500 was accepted for a preschool interactive learning initiative to update interactive materials.
Donations accepted included $3,000 from Lumber King Inc. to sponsor winter sports student ticket entry at Boyle County High School and a series of $1,000 donations from the Danville Kiwanis Club to Family Resource/Youth Service Centers at multiple schools. On the recorded vote to accept one scholarship donation of $1,665 from the Boyle County Education Foundation, Inc., Chairperson Jennifer Newby abstained because she serves as a director on that foundation, and the motion passed with three votes in favor and one abstention (Jesse Johnson was absent).
The board also ratified payroll and general fund claims: payroll checks and direct deposits totaling $1,913,197.68 and general fund claims totaling $850,244.11. Multiple facility-use requests were approved for youth sports and community events; where requested, the board waived the policy requiring a district custodian to be present when the Danville/Boyle County Recreation Department provides a site supervisor.
