Boyle County board names Trace Creek Construction construction manager for Junction City and Perryville renovations

The Boyle County Board of Education voted Jan. 15 to award the construction manager contract for renovations at Junction City Elementary and Perryville Elementary to Trace Creek Construction.

The motion to accept Trace Creek’s proposal was made by board member Stephen Tamme and seconded by Jesse Johnson; the board approved the award 4–1, with board member Ruth Ann Elliott voting against. Board Chair Jennifer Newby, Jesse Johnson, Tamme and Cara Adkins voted in favor.

District officials said they received three proposals, interviewed all firms, and reviewed revised fee structures and references before selecting Trace Creek as the "best overall and most acceptable" firm for the estimated 36-month construction period. The record includes a revised fee schedule submitted by Trace Creek for different construction-cost scenarios.

The board did not provide detailed line-item disclosure of the contract in the meeting minutes; board members indicated the choice followed interviews and reference checks. The contract award authorizes district staff to proceed with final negotiations and contract execution with Trace Creek consistent with the district’s procurement policies.

The board approved the award during a regular meeting at Boyle County Middle School Library. No additional public comment on the award was recorded.
