Sheriff wins approval for social-media archiving subscription and victim-notification agreement

Daniel also presented Intergovernmental Agreement No. 7138 with the Oregon Department of Corrections to provide automated victim-notification services about offender custody or release. Commissioners asked about potential liability language; Daniel said Legal Counsel had reviewed and approved the agreement. Commissioner Colene Martin moved to approve the agreement; Commissioner Gary Richardson seconded. The board approved the IGA on a 3-0 roll call.
County officials said the archiving system can be used countywide to support public-records requests and investigations. The approvals were procedural and did not change existing county policy; staff will proceed with contract administration and subscription renewal.
