Committee approves spring outreach flyer, schedules Clean Sweep and agrees to compost outreach

The Solid Waste Advisory Committee approved an updated spring/summer municipal solid waste events flyer and set outreach plans for the season, including Clean Sweep and workforce training outreach.

Members confirmed Clean Sweep is scheduled for April 25 and discussed staffing outreach tables at a workforce training event expected in early May (May 3–9 window). The committee proposed showing finished compost as a demonstration at outreach tables and producing a short flyer or laminated images illustrating what goes into the composter and what comes out. Committee members volunteered possible staffing assignments and emphasized the value of visible examples and an informational packet for restaurants.

The committee also discussed coordinating with Defenders of Wildlife and the tribal council for a spring bear‑safety workshop and agreed to support a presence at Clean Sweep. The committee approved the updated outreach flyer by voice vote and will finalize staffing and logistics as dates are confirmed.
