Town staff updated the board on efforts to hire an outside firm to conduct an independent investigation into an April 7 power-surge event.
Staff said they circulated a request for proposals to firms recommended by Electric Cities but received no proposals during the solicitation period. Two firms replied indicating they were too busy at the time. Staff said they plan to pursue contacts at the upcoming Electric Cities conference where multiple firms and vendors will be present.
"We did send out a request for proposals...we got 0 responses to that," a staff member said. The staff member said the town will revisit the procurement effort after the conference in hopes of obtaining proposals from firms that attend the event.
Next steps: staff will seek vendor contacts at the Electric Cities conference and reissue or reopen procurement as appropriate to secure an independent investigation firm.
