Auglaize County’s Board of Commissioners approved a negotiated $16,000 payment to release a mechanic's lien on the former Acres building after the lien was discovered in correspondence rather than in county title searches.
County Administrator Erica L. Preston told the Board the lien was not identified in either title search the County conducted because of an indexing matter. She recommended the County accept a reduced negotiated amount of $16,000 to resolve the claim and release the lien. The Board agreed with the recommendation and approved the payment.
The minutes do not specify the lien claimant’s name or the original lien amount. The record indicates the recommendation was administrative and the Board approved acceptance of the negotiated settlement amount.
