At the March 18 technical advisory committee meeting, NVTA staff set the public engagement timeline for the authority's six-year program: a public hearing on May 14 at the authority meeting and a public comment period running April 2 through May 17.
The staff member said the authority meeting will hold the public hearing first and then proceed with its business meeting that night. "The comment period will start April 2, go through May 17, which is 3 days after the public hearing," the presenter said, noting staff will continue to accept written comments after the hearing for a short period.
Staff told the committee the May committee meeting schedule has been moved to the fourth Wednesday to allow time to collect and process public comments and to prepare for June funding recommendations; staff plans to present funding recommendations to the committee in June and to the authority for consideration in July.
Two-page project description forms, maps and analytic summaries for each application are posted on the NVTA public engagement web page, staff said, and printed packets are available on request. The committee encouraged members to direct interested community members to the public engagement page during the comment period.
