Columbiana County awards $389,992 bridge rehab bid, adopts $200,000 appropriation and routine contracts

The Columbiana County Board of Commissioners on Sept. 3, 2025, awarded a bridge rehabilitation contract and approved a set of routine administrative actions including an amended appropriation and a snow‑removal contract.
On a motion by Commissioner Ginter seconded by Commissioner Paparodis, the board accepted the County Engineer’s recommendation and awarded the Bow String Arch Bridge rehabilitation contract to The Ohio Bridge Corporation, doing business as U.S. Bridge, for $389,991.92. The motion carried 2–0 (Commissioner Halleck was recorded as excused).
The board also accepted an Amended Official Certificate from the Office of Budget Commission certifying $200,000 to fund line T47-T47 and appropriated $200,000 to T47‑T47‑E‑1008. Commissioners approved a slate of Then & Now bills covering multiple departments (examples recorded in the minutes include Salem Heating & Cooling, Ohio Edison, and the Treasurer, State of Ohio) and approved a contract with Tipton's Lawn & Landscaping, Inc. for snow and ice removal at the Government Service Building for the period Oct. 1, 2025–Sept. 30, 2027 with a ceiling of $20,000.
The board also adopted Resolution #42‑2025 appointing Steve Ullom, Family Children First Council Coordinator, to a two‑year term on the Ohio Children’s Trust Fund Northeast Regional Prevention Council (term Sept. 3, 2025–Sept. 3, 2027). All motions were moved by Commissioner Ginter, seconded by Commissioner Paparodis, and carried by a recorded vote of 2–0. With no further business, Commissioner Paparodis adjourned the meeting.
