Columbiana County director of economic development resigns; Robert Ritchey named successor

Tad Herold, who served as county director of economic development for nearly 12 years, thanked the current and prior boards for the opportunity to hold the position and said he will work with the Port Authority and Economic Development staff on how the consortium will operate going forward. The board did not specify an effective date for the appointment during the meeting.
The appointment places Ritchey in charge of county economic development operations and positions Herold to act as a coordinator between the county and partner organizations. The commissioners did not discuss specific projects or budgetary reallocations tied to the personnel change during the session.
The board took the action during its regular meeting at the Columbiana County Courthouse; the session then continued with other contract and budget items.
