Board approves personnel MOA, multiple policy updates and moves into executive session
Summary

Mr. Cameron (Speaker 9) presented a memorandum of agreement between the West Islip Teachers Association Teaching Assistant Chapter, the West Islip Union Free School District, and an employee. A motion to adopt the MOA was moved and seconded and recorded as approved in the meeting record.
Mr. Cameron then offered a personnel consent agenda (listed in the packet) which the board approved by motion. The board also approved health and welfare service contracts with neighboring districts, accepted surplus declarations for miscellaneous books and other listed items, and approved a set of policies on second reading.
Policy actions recorded in the meeting included adoption of Policy 6552 (employee rights to express breast milk in the workplace), Policy 3520 (use of automated external defibrillators), rescinding older emergency/safety-related policies (5681/5682/5683) and adopting an updated Policy 5681 (school safety plan and teams), and adopting Policy 5660 (free meals and services) and Policy 5661 (charging meals and other food items). Each requested motion was moved, seconded and recorded as approved in the transcript's vote calls ('Aye'/'Motion approved').
The chair then asked for a motion to adjourn to executive session "where we'll discuss personnel negotiations and legal matters." The motion was moved, seconded and recorded as approved; the public meeting closed for executive session.
