Potter County proclaims 4-H Week, approves minutes and accepts multiple surplus equipment bids

Spencer Gee, Potter County 4-H Educator, joined Teen Council members Dana Williams and Elizabeth Freeman of Oswayo Valley School for the proclamation. The students described how participation in 4-H has supported their personal growth, leadership and involvement in the community. Commissioner Robert Rossman moved to approve the proclamation; Commissioner Nancy Grupp seconded. The vote recorded: Rossman yes; Grupp yes; Paul Heimel yes.
The board approved the March 5, 2026 minutes on a motion by Commissioner Robert Rossman, seconded by Commissioner Paul Heimel; the vote was recorded as Rossman yes; Heimel yes; Grupp yes.
Following an agenda amendment to open Municibid items, the commissioners accepted the following high bids: a reach-in freezer for $1,175.00 (motion by Rossman, second Heimel); a Southbend double convection oven for $290.00 (motion by Heimel, second Rossman); a Southbend double oven and cooktop for $705.00 (motion by Rossman, second Grupp); an Imperial double convection oven for $1,105.00 (motion by Rossman, second Heimel); a Bally walk-in cooler and freezer for $9,200.00 (motion by Grupp, second Rossman); and a stand mixer for $310.00 (motion by Heimel, second Rossman). All votes were recorded as yes by Rossman, Heimel and Grupp.
The accepted bids will proceed through the county's surplus sale process as recorded in the meeting minutes.
