Commissioners approve subdivision variance and final plat for Green Pastures

Washington County Commissioners on May 5 approved two land-use items: a subdivision-variance request for a tract fronting Quarry Road and the final plat for Green Pastures subdivision.
County planning staff (Mr. Stokes) described the Quarry Road variance as the last request pending under the previous subdivision regulations. He said an existing 7.71-acre tract and a neighboring 1.992-acre tract came together after earlier lot splits and the proposed reconfiguration would create lots of roughly 2.052 acres, 2.659 acres and 2 acres while meeting county frontage, setbacks and on-site septic (OSSF) requirements. Precinct 3 moved to approve the variance, the motion was seconded and the court carried the motion.
Staff then presented the Green Pastures final plat (submitted before the new regulations). The plat covers seven lots in the James Clark survey with community water available on Windy Acres; the largest lot and smallest lot sizes were reported by staff (transcript numbers read largest "38 3.82" and smallest 2.5 acres; staff said the plat meets engineering, addressing and environmental reviews). Commissioners moved and seconded approval of the final plat and the motion carried.
Mr. Stokes also announced a recusal from review of a subsequent subdivision because of a family interest and said he removed himself from the review and recommendation process for that upcoming item.
