Washington County accepts clean 2025 audit; general fund grows $1.2 million

He said the general fund reported roughly $40,900,000 in total revenues and the same amount in total expenditures, leaving a net inflow of about $1,200,000 and an ending fund balance of $18,173,000 — approximately five months of operating expenditures. "Five months is a pretty strong fund balance for the county," Tristan said.
Tristan also said the county underwent a single audit for federal coronavirus (ARPA) funds this year and that the auditors found no material weaknesses or significant deficiencies in that review. He said the auditors plan to submit the county's financial report to the Government Finance Officers Association for award consideration.
Commissioner Bullock moved to accept the audit; the motion was seconded and the court voted "aye" with no opposition. The motion carried.
The court's acceptance of the audit concludes the external review for 2025; commissioners praised county staff for their work on the report. No ordinance, budget adoption or follow-up assignment was recorded in the transcript as part of this item.
