County administrator reports reappointment, regional electric aggregation meeting and other operational updates

Preston told the Board she will present a resolution to reappoint Michael Eberle to the Auglaize County Public Defender Commission for a four-year term and said Auglaize County will host a regional electric aggregation meeting on March 3 at 1:00 p.m.; she also reported on personnel, cost-allocation outreach and other administrative items.
County Administrator Erica L. Preston reported a slate of administrative items during the Feb. 19, 2026 meeting of the Auglaize County Board of Commissioners.
Preston said the Board needs to appoint a member to the Auglaize County Public Defender Commission and that she will prepare a resolution to reappoint Michael Eberle for a four-year term. She also reported that an offer of employment for the open Recycling Laborer position in the Solid Waste Department was declined by the applicant.
Preston reviewed a telephone conference about the county’s Cost Allocation Plan with a potential partner company and detailed information that will be needed for a proposal. She said a pavement sample requested from the Solid Waste Department should be delayed while additional site logistics are explored.
On regional coordination, Preston said Auglaize County will host an electric aggregation meeting on March 3 at 1:00 p.m. with representatives from Van Wert, Mercer and Logan counties. She also reported that annual meetings need to be scheduled and that she requested President John N. Bergman’s signature for an Equitable Shared Agreement. Finally, she said the Board has an upcoming meeting with Sheriff Vorhees to discuss Next Gen 911.
