Catoosa County reports record 91.36% graduation rate, multiple state recognitions

Catoosa County Public Schools officials on Monday framed the 2026 school year as one of “champions,” highlighting academic gains, extracurricular success and rising career-education completion. “At 91.36 percent, we achieved the highest graduation rate in our district's history,” the Superintendent said.
The district said several schools earned state recognitions for literacy and mathematics: Boynton Elementary, Heritage High School and Tiger Creek Elementary were cited as state literacy leaders, while Cloud Springs Elementary, Heritage Middle School, Lakeview Middle School and Tiger Creek Elementary were named state math leaders. The district also reported being named among the top 12 school systems in Georgia for SAT performance and noted multiple fine-arts awards.
District leaders pointed to career, technical and agricultural education (CTAE) outcomes as evidence of postsecondary readiness. “Our current CTAE graduation rate is 98.45 percent,” the Director of Secondary Education said, and district officials described CTAE pathways as producing “highly skilled, workforce-ready” graduates.
The Superintendent recognized the district’s 2025 Teacher of the Year, Dr. Rebecca List, and the Board of Education’s recent honor from the Georgia School Board Association. Officials emphasized that the recognitions reflect systemwide investments in instruction, supports and school culture.
Leaders also announced a new partnership with the Catoosa County Fire Department to launch a firefighter pathway at LFO High School for juniors and seniors beginning in August 2026. Officials said the program is intended to provide hands-on training and direct workforce entry options for students.
District spokespeople framed these accomplishments as part of a broader strategy to strengthen instruction, supports and opportunities for students, while noting follow-up work remains to maintain and broaden gains.
