Board approves special education, Title I and preschool staffing allocations for 2026–27

The Boyle County Board of Education unanimously approved special education staffing allocations for 2026–27 on Feb. 17. Jesse Johnson moved the motion, which was seconded by Stephen Tamme.

Separately, the board unanimously approved Title I school-based allocations (Perryville Elementary School: 2 certified; Junction City Elementary School: 3 certified; Woodlawn Elementary School: 1 certified) on a motion by Ruth Ann Elliott. The board also approved preschool staffing allocations, with example district listings showing Woodlawn Elementary with 2.0 certified and 2.0 classified preschool positions and similar allocations at Perryville and Junction City.
Board members emphasized that district-based positions will be allocated based on enrollment and need and that final rosters and any additional district-level hires will be set as enrollment figures are confirmed.
