The Mayor and City Council of the City of Schuyler on June 17 adopted Ordinance No. 2025-10, which establishes classifications and sets minimum and maximum pay ranges for city officials and employees and provides pay rates for part-time employees.
Council member Marron introduced the ordinance’s first reading; the council then voted to waive the three-reading rule and approved final passage. The motions to waive and for final passage were moved by Council member Baumert and seconded as recorded in the minutes. Voting listed in the minutes was Baumert, Kasik, Marron, Rodriguez and Svoboda in favor; no members voted against.
City Clerk Joan Mejstrik said the change was intended to provide two options for health insurance for employees. The ordinance as described in the minutes also includes provisions for publication and for an effective date; the minutes do not state the exact effective date.
The council’s action was taken during the June 17 regular session and was approved unanimously. The city clerk’s office will publish the ordinance as required by law and implement the updated pay ranges and part-time rate schedule.
