The Snohomish County Health & Community Services Committee on April 28 moved two staff motions to the May 6 Government, Legal & Legislative (GLS) consent agenda without objection.
Cynthia Foley, council staff with the Health Department, described motion 26‑164 as a data‑sharing agreement with the Washington State Department of Health for access to ResNet data, which staff said would provide timely rates of cases and hospitalizations for COVID‑19, influenza and RSV. Data security policies are linked to the contract; the motion requests authorization for the County Executive to sign the agreement and to place it on the May 6 GLS consent agenda.
Foley also presented motion 26‑165, a naloxone distribution agreement with the city of Mukilteo under which naloxone would be provided to the city in exchange for data about opioid overdoses. The county would use the overdose data to track naloxone usage and prioritize distribution. Council Member Peterson asked whether Mukilteo’s distribution plan would make naloxone broadly available to the public or keep it within first‑responder programs; staff said the motion text indicates provision to first responders and offered to provide more detail to the council before GLS consideration.
Both motions were moved to the May 6 GLS agenda for consideration on the consent calendar; no final action was taken at this committee meeting.
