Kimberly Gassaway, GSA director, said the Hayward energy services contract includes EV charging station implementation.
Ordinance (Item 11): The board adopted an ordinance repealing and reenacting Administrative Code chapter 2.94 to consolidate the commissions for the Albany, Hayward, San Leandro and Washington Township Veterans Memorial Buildings into a single Veterans Memorial Buildings Commission; the ordinance also authorized a $400 monthly stipend for commissioners and related budget adjustments. Closed-session report-outs: County Counsel reported three closed-session actions: a final settlement of $206,000 in Teshara v. County of Alameda (case no. 22 CV 023944), a unanimous approval concluding Smith v. County of Alameda (case no. 25 CV 122263), and a no-monetary settlement in Castro Valley Investment Group LLC v. Castro Valley Marketplace LLC (case no. 24 CV 075116). The board reported the results in open session as required by law.
Public comment: During regular-agenda public comment, Blair Beekman addressed item 25 (a proposed amendment to the Sheriff's contract with Mark43 for records/dispatch and CAD services), asking whether the public-access features of the CAD remain available and urging continued accessibility and community oversight.
Outcomes: All items included in the mass motion and the ordinance adoption passed; settlements were reported as approved in closed session.
