Fayette County commissioners approve multiple maintenance, equipment purchases and budget actions

The board approved HVAC repairs and maintenance contracts for the courthouse, a clock maintenance agreement, purchase of a Vermeer vacuum excavator, a county engineer procurement agreement for a roundabout design, and a change order for Rattlesnake Water System improvements; the board also accepted CHIP administration services and various appropriation actions.
At the March 16 meeting the Fayette County commissioners approved a series of procurement and budget actions covering facilities maintenance, equipment purchases and program administration.
The board accepted several proposals from Frye Mechanical Inc. for courthouse HVAC work: a blower assembly for $2,507; a motorized refrigerant valve installation for $6,497; and a leak check/repair for $4,843. Commissioners also approved an annual maintenance agreement for the courthouse clock with The Tower Clock Company at $900 per year.
The County Engineer was authorized to enter an agreement with Carpenter Marty Transportation to produce Part 1 construction documents (preliminary design, environmental field studies, cost estimates and public involvement) for a proposed roundabout at State Route 41 and Bloomingburg-New Holland Road at an estimated cost of $174,613.00. Commissioners also authorized the purchase of a 2026 Vermeer CV573SGT vacuum excavator from Vermeer Heartland at an estimated price of $67,183.00.
The board approved Change Order #3 for OnePointe Solutions LLC on the Rattlesnake Water System Improvements — Contract A, adding $1,814.28 to complete laboratory epoxy top cap resizing and increasing that contract total to $102,476.81. Earlier vendor payments recorded in the minutes show substantial contract amounts to Kelchner Inc. for Rattlesnake sanitary and water work ($589,061.50 and $641,128.34) recorded in the bills list.
Commissioners also accepted a proposal from Ohio Regional Development Corporation to administer PY2026 Community Housing Impact and Preservation (CHIP) program activities, with allowable administrative costs of $84,000 to be paid from PY2026 CHIP funds. Several appropriation modifications, transfers, and additional appropriations were approved during the meeting; the board recorded and approved a long list of vendor payments across county departments.
