Fayette County OKs Dynegy energy contract, adopts utility permit fees and approves appointments

Fayette County's Board of Commissioners on March 23 authorized a Master Agreement with Dynegy Energy Services (East), LLC to provide full-requirements retail electric supply and related administrative services for participants in the county's aggregation program in the AES service territory. The contract term in the meeting record is May 2026 through June 2028 at a price of $0.10290 per kilowatt-hour. The motion passed on a unanimous roll call.
The board also adopted a new utility-permit application fee and schedule effective March 23, 2026. The record sets the application fee at $30. Examples in the adopted schedule include no charge for attaching to existing poles, $30 per new pole, $25 per lineal foot for public-utility underground crossings, $35 per lineal foot for private contractor underground crossings, $1.00 per lineal foot for sanitary/storm sewer, and $0.50 per lineal foot for gas, water, electric, cable and fiber optic installations. Commissioners approved the resolution by unanimous vote.

PY2026/2027 sub-grant agreement required to receive WIOA funds, effective July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027, and authorized the chairman to sign on behalf of Fayette County. - Confirmed appointments: Marcie Hamilton to the Child Abuse and Child Neglect Regional Prevention Council (term March 11, 2026'March 10, 2028), Kyle Montgomery to the Fayette County Rural Zoning Commission (5-year term beginning June 1, 2025), and Ryan Bauman to the Fayette County Zoning Appeals Board (5-year term beginning June 1, 2025).
