The filing included Exhibit A, a detailed legal description and map, and a parcel list identifying multiple parcels (totaling 490.860 acres) owned or controlled by Martin Land Co., August Knecht, Gretchen Krieger and others. The petition states the signatories represent 100% ownership of the territory sought for annexation.
Commissioners adopted a resolution ordering notice and scheduling the hearing under Ohio’s annexation statutes (R.C. 709.02–709.11). The filing lists parcel IDs and acreage for each tract and provides an adjacency list of property owners who must be notified under statute. The agent’s filing also notes the legal description was prepared under the direction of surveyor David L. Cox and is based on record data; it states the description is not the result of a field survey and identifies exhibits on file.
The March 16 action was procedural: the board recorded the petition, instructed the agent to provide statutory notice to adjacent owners, and set the public hearing.
