Henry County commissioners approve 3% wage increase for 2026, reappoint DD board member

The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted Dec. 9, 2025, to approve a slate of routine resolutions, including a 3% wage increase for 2026 for employees under the commissioners and the reappointment of Nichole Trip to the Henry County Board of Developmental Disabilities through 2029. Commissioner Joel Miller moved each resolution and Commissioner Glenn Miller seconded; motions were approved unanimously by the two members present. Commissioner G. Jeff Brubaker was recorded absent.
Earlier in the meeting, Commissioner Joel Miller moved and Commissioner Glenn Miller seconded a motion to enter executive session for economic development from approximately 9:28 a.m. to 10:08 a.m.; both present commissioners voted yes. The record states that no action resulted from that executive session.
The board also approved a budget adjustment (Resolution A) and a 'Then and Now' certificate to authorize payment for an expense presented after-the-fact (Resolution B). The board approved payment of a late charge incurred on a Henry County Sheriff's Office credit card (Resolution D) and certified 2025 mileage (Resolution H).
Other items approved included the 2026 Force Account for the Henry County Engineer (Resolution F) and installation of load-limit reduction signs on county roads for 2026 (Resolution G). Each motion was moved by Commissioner Joel Miller and seconded by Commissioner Glenn Miller and recorded as approved unanimously by the two commissioners present.
The meeting opened at 9:04 a.m., included the Lord's Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance, and was adjourned with no further business. Kristi Schultheis is listed as clerk on the meeting record.
