Henry County commissioners review 2026 budgets, OK routine resolutions including $7,497 corrections grant increase

The Henry County Board of Commissioners met Nov. 25, 2025, to hear a slate of 2026 budget presentations from judges and department heads and to approve routine fiscal resolutions. President Glenn A. Miller called the session to order at 9:01 a.m.; commissioners G. Jeff Brubaker and Joel Miller were present for the meeting.
Judge Rosebrook opened the budget presentations at 9:15 a.m., followed by Judge Melissa Peper Firestone and Katie Baden with the Family Court budget and Gwen Howe-Gebers with the prosecutor’s office budget. Presenters across the morning and afternoon reviewed departmental spending priorities for the coming year, including the offices of the recorder, clerk of courts, OSU Extension, the county treasurer, veteran services, Soil and Water, and the coroner.
Tracy McDaniels, the county’s environmental facilities manager, presented a landfill operations update at 10:22 a.m. McDaniels reported that the transfer facility recorded 109.32 tons of municipal solid waste and 206.35 tons of tires for October 2025. The landfill press materials included operations data from the Ohio EPA Solid Waste Disposal Summary of Operations and noted the landfill’s hours and contact information: office hours 8:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Monday–Friday and 8:00–11:00 a.m. on the first and third Saturdays; phone 419-256-7343; info at henrycountyohio.com/landfill and on Facebook @HenryCountysolidwasteOH.
At about 3:00 p.m., the board took and passed four recorded actions. Resolution A approved budget adjustments (motion by Commissioner G. Jeff Brubaker; second by Commissioner G. Miller) and passed unanimously. Resolution B authorized "Then and Now" payments (moved by Commissioner Brubaker; seconded by Commissioner G. Miller) and passed unanimously. Resolution C approved an addendum increasing a community-based corrections subsidy grant by $7,497 (moved by Commissioner Brubaker; seconded by Commissioner G. Miller) and passed unanimously. Resolution D authorized December out-of-county travel for Job and Family Services employees (moved by Commissioner Joel Miller; second by Commissioner Brubaker) and passed unanimously.
The meeting recessed twice for brief breaks and for a midday lunch and adjourned at 3:03 p.m. The minutes were attested by Clerk Kristi Schultheis and signed by President Glenn A. Miller. No public controversy, objections or recorded roll-call dissents were reflected in the minutes for the resolutions adopted.
