A consultant update on Salem's electric power purchasing process and next steps drew questions from Council during the March 9 work session.
Garrett Cole, vice-president of GDS Associates (participating remotely), presented the consultant's findings and outlined next steps for the city's electric power purchasing review. Assistant City Manager Rob Light supplemented the presentation with a tentative project timeline. Finance Director Rosie Jordan and Interim Electric Director Kevin Divers provided additional information as Council members asked questions about procurement and timing.
Councilors used the work session to seek clarifications rather than vote on any action. No formal procurement action was taken at the meeting; staff will continue the process and return with next steps and timeline refinements as the review proceeds.
