Henry County commissioners hear Senior Center report, unanimously approve routine resolutions and back low‑income housing support

The Henry County Board of Commissioners on Feb. 10 reviewed a report from the Henry County Senior Center and approved several routine resolutions, including a county endorsement of a low‑income housing project.
Angela Sosebee, Executive Director of the Henry County Senior Center, presented 2025 totals and January 2026 activity. The packet lists 85,520 meals served in 2025, 10,923 total trips via HCTN and 168,762 total miles in 2025, 15,835 volunteer hours and 79,990 participant hours for the year. For January 2026 the center reported 5,338 meals served and 337 unduplicated participants scanned.
Financial documents in the packet showed January revenues and expenses and listed line items including building rental income, nutrition program income and staffing costs; the packet showed total 2026 budgeted revenues and expenses and a year-to-date comparison.
On routine business the board approved several resolutions on motions by Commissioner G. Jeff Brubaker, seconded by Commissioner Joel Miller: Resolution A (budget adjustments), Resolution B (Then and Now), and Resolution C (approval of out-of-county travel for a JFS employee). The board also approved Resolution E, a request for support for a low‑income housing project, on the same motion pattern; each motion passed unanimously.
Earlier the board moved into an executive session to discuss a sale of property. Commissioner Brubaker made the motion, Commissioner Joel Miller seconded, and the recorded votes were Yes for Glenn Miller, Mr. Brubaker and Mr. J. Miller; the record shows no action was taken following the executive session.
