Staff read a formal recognition that traced March’s public service from a 30‑plus year career in Denver public works to his terms on Frederick’s Board of Trustees. The proclamation cited March’s work on water resources, downtown revitalization and his role as mayor pro tem. "The Town of Frederick is honored to recognize trustee Dan March for his years of dedicated public service and his lasting impact on the community," the staff reader said.
Colleagues offered personal tributes. Mayor Kreitz and several trustees highlighted March’s mentorship, institutional knowledge and willingness to listen. March responded with remarks about what serving on the board has meant to him and his pride in the town. "I fell in love with this town more than I did when we moved here 22 years ago," March said, reflecting on his time in office.
The board recessed briefly for cupcakes and presented gifts; staff and trustees invited March to continue volunteering, including participation on an upcoming transportation task force. Following the recess, Town Clerk Tricia administered the oath of office to newly elected trustees Wendy Padilla, Matt Hickman and Ryan Antonio. Each repeated the oath to support the U.S. and Colorado constitutions, state laws and Town of Frederick ordinances and to faithfully perform trustee duties.
The mayor welcomed the new trustees and noted forthcoming onboarding sessions, including code of ethics and sunshine‑law training, and a May 6 meeting to discuss committee assignments. The board closed the meeting after welcoming the new members and outlining next steps for onboarding.
