Pittsburg County commissioners approve multiple resolutions, advertise Bugtussle firehouse construction

Pittsburg County commissioners met April 20 in the County Commissioners Conference Room and unanimously approved several resolutions and routine fiscal business affecting fire departments, county governance and public safety.
Chairman Ross Selman read and the board approved "Amended" Resolution 26-234 to advertise for construction of a new Bugtussle Volunteer Fire Department building. Commissioners also adopted Resolution 26-235 to appoint members to the Pittsburg County Water Authority and Resolution 26-236 to add requisitioning and receiving officers for the newly certified Carlton Landing Volunteer Fire Department. All resolutions passed on recorded motions and unanimous aye votes from the commissioners present.
The board canceled a purchase order for the Ashland Fire Department under Resolution 26-237 and approved a deposit of funds to the Kiowa Volunteer Fire Department under Resolution 26-238. Under Resolution 26-239, the commissioners approved acceptance of a donation to the sheriff's office. The board also approved a vehicle loan and liability agreement so a truck for the Savanna Volunteer Fire Department can be taken to a trade show; the motion passed unanimously.
The commissioners approved a memorandum of understanding between Pittsburg County, the Pittsburg County Sheriff's Office and the Chickasaw Nation addressing damages and notifications related to inmate medical matters. County staff explained edits to the MOU before the board voted to approve it.
The board also approved a service agreement between the treasurer’s office and Omecorp Genesis for $3,015; a county staff member explained the scope of the agreement during the meeting. Fiscal motions to approve claims, purchase orders, transfers and blanket purchase orders were passed following review and signature.
All formal votes were taken by recorded motion and passed without recorded nay votes. The meeting adjourned after the board signed approved claims.
