Pittsburg County renews U.S. Army Corps license for two Eufaula Lake boat ramps

Pittsburg County commissioners voted March 30 to approve renewal of a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers license authorizing the county to operate and maintain two boat-launch ramps and associated parking and access at Eufaula Lake.
Commissioner Ross Selman moved to approve License No. DACW56-3-26-087 (renewal of expired License No. DACW56-3-20-309), which the board described as covering the Bug Tussle and Bucks of Gains Creek boat ramps in Pittsburg County. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
The license text submitted with the meeting packet describes the parcels, grants a five-year term beginning Oct. 5, 2025 and ending Oct. 4, 2030, and makes the license revocable at will by the Army. It requires the county to operate and maintain ramps, roads and parking areas for the benefit of the public, to comply with environmental and historic-preservation rules, and to keep the premises in good condition. The license allows the county to charge reasonable fees for ramp use to recover expenses but requires those fees to be used for maintenance and operation and not to deter public use.
Commissioners did not discuss changes to fee schedules during the meeting. The license materials were signed by the Corps' Chief, Real Estate Division, and include legal descriptions and exhibits for the two parcels.
Selman made the motion to approve the license; Charlie Rogers seconded. The vote was recorded as: Ross Selman — aye; Mike Haynes — aye; Charlie Rogers — aye. The motion carried.
