Huron County approves First Amendment to land purchase/exchange with Norwalk City School District to continue due diligence

The Huron County Board of Commissioners authorized the president to execute the First Amendment to a Real Estate Purchase and Exchange Contract with the Board of Education of the Norwalk City School District.
The original contract (effective July 29, 2025) covered the county’s purchase of a 6.000‑acre portion of a school parcel and the school board’s purchase of roughly 23.0112 acres of a county parcel. The amendment grants the county additional time to complete a title search and environmental studies for the Main Street School Property before the county acquires that parcel. The School Board approved the First Amendment Dec. 16, 2025; the county approved it Dec. 18.
Harry Brady moved the resolution; James R. Morgan seconded. The roll call was unanimous. The First Amendment to the Real Estate Purchase and Exchange Contract is on file with county records.
