Huron County authorized to seek up to $1.05 million in CHIP funds and names GLCAP as administrator

The resolution authorizes the president of the board to submit the application via the agency’s SalesForce portal, requires public hearings to gather local input, and designates Great Lakes Community Action Partnership (GLCAP) to prepare the application and to administer the program if the grant is awarded. The board said it intends to partner with the cities of Norwalk and Willard to maximize funding potential and meet program planning requirements.
The board noted that county participation requires compliance with program guidelines and assurances; the resolution states the Board understands and accepts oversight responsibility for the grant. Harry Brady moved the resolution; James R. Morgan seconded and the vote was unanimous.
County officials did not provide additional program design details or a proposed budget in the meeting minutes; the selection of GLCAP and the maximum award amount were recorded in the resolution on file. Next steps include any required public hearings and submission of the application materials to the Ohio Development Services Agency.
