Huron County approves Phase II environmental assessment at Norwalk Main Street School

The Huron County Board of Commissioners on Dec. 16 approved an agreement with BJAAM Environmental, Inc. to perform a Limited Phase II Environmental Site Assessment at the Norwalk Main Street School property at 80 East Main Street in Norwalk.
Commissioner Harry Brady moved the resolution to approve the agreement and Commissioner James R. Morgan seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The resolution lists the contract amount as Seventeen Thousand Nine Hundred Thirty-Eight Dollars and Ten Cents ($17,938.10) and includes a clause stating the Limited Phase II ESA shall be conducted by BJAAM "at the school board’s expense in an amount not to exceed more than 10%, without prior client written approval," as written in the resolution language.
Administrator/Clerk Vickie Ziemba was recorded in the meeting attendance; during discussion Commissioner Brady noted that the county is contracting for the work but that the Norwalk City Schools will pay the invoice.
The resolution was adopted during the regular session and the roll call vote was recorded as Aye by Commissioners Harry Brady, Tom Dunlap and James R. Morgan. The agreement is on file with the county clerk as noted in the meeting record.
