Huron County adopts coordinated public and human services transportation plan

County officials said the plan aims to improve access to jobs, medical care, education, shopping and government services for residents who rely on public or human-services transportation. The minutes note that stakeholders from multiple public- and human-services agencies participated in the planning process led by GLCAP.
Adoption is required for entities to reference the plan in grant applications for programs that fall under federal transit statutes (listed in the minutes as 49 U.S.C. Section 5310, 5311, 5316 and 5317, or replacement funding streams). Officials said that having the plan on file will allow eligible local providers to apply for those funds.
The resolution passed with a roll-call vote: Tom Dunlap Aye; Bradley R. Mesenburg Aye; Harry Brady Absent. The county clerk's minutes state the transportation plan will be placed on file and distributed to appropriate parties via Mobility Management/GLCAP.
The board took no separate follow-up action at the meeting beyond adoption and filing; the minutes do not specify a timeline for implementation or anticipated grant applications.
