The Huron County Board of Commissioners on Aug. 5 approved a resolution authorizing advertisement and letting of bids for the "Replacement Scale 2025" project at the Huron County Transfer Station.
The resolution directs that sealed bids be delivered to the Huron County Commissioners' office, 180 Milan Avenue, Suite 7, Norwalk, Ohio, until 9:00 a.m. local time on Sept. 3, 2025, when bids will be publicly opened and read. The board's action also requires a mandatory pre-bid conference at the transfer station, 2415 Townline Road 131 W. Willard, OH 44890, at 10:00 a.m. on Aug. 25, 2025; a site visit will follow and contractors may inspect the project area between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. the same day.
Bidding documents are available beginning Aug. 7, 2025; contractors may request electronic copies by emailing Gordon Parish or Joshua Malek at T&M Associates. The advertisement states that bids must comply with the Instructions to Bidders, include required bid security, demonstrate bidder qualifications, and include payment of prevailing wages pursuant to ORC Section 4115.05.
Why it matters: The scale is a key piece of equipment for the county transfer station's operations and the procurement will determine the contractor and schedule for replacement. The mandatory pre-bid conference and prevailing-wage requirement are material preconditions for participation.
Interested bidders should follow the Instructions to Bidders in the posted documents and attend the Aug. 25 pre-bid meeting. The county posted the legal notice and contact information on its website and via the bid documents; the public bid opening is scheduled for Sept. 3, 2025 at 9:00 a.m.
No contract award information was on the Aug. 5 record; award decisions will follow the bid-opening and procurement review process.
