Huron County awards $2.94 million in bridge contracts to R&I Construction

Both projects will receive funding in cooperation with the Ohio Department of Transportation and further project coordination will be handled through the Huron County Engineer’s Office, the resolutions say.
Both awards were made on the recommendation of the county engineer. The Chenango Road award passed with Commissioners Harry Brady and Tom Dunlap voting yes and Commissioner Bradley R. Mesenburg abstaining. The Vesta Road award drew the same roll-call result: two yeas and one abstention.
The board’s resolutions note that notice and bidding were conducted under Ohio Revised Code procurement rules and that the county will coordinate final contracting and administration with the County Engineer. No further details on construction schedules or contractor timelines were included in the meeting record.
