Huron County commissioners unanimously approve minutes, claims register, law library MOU, CSEA contract and employment agreement

The Huron County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously on a series of routine items during its April 21, 2026 regular session.
The board waived reading of the April 14 and April 16 minutes and approved them. By Resolution 26-122 the board approved the Claim Register for Payment Batches #422743 and authorized the Huron County Auditor to issue warrants, citing Ohio Revised Code Section 305.10 and compliance with Section 121.22.
By Resolution 26-123 the board approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the Statewide Consortium of Ohio County Law Library Resources Boards so the Huron County Law Library may receive grant funds (MOU on file).
The board adopted Resolution 26-124 approving an agreement between the Huron County Child Support Enforcement Agency (CSEA) and the Huron County Sheriff to provide specified Title IV-D services, effective April 1, 2026 through March 31, 2027 (agreement on file). The resolution referenced Title IV-D of the Social Security Act and applicable Ohio Administrative Code rules cited in the contract.
By Resolution 26-125 the board approved an employment contract with Peter Welch as Huron County Director of Operations, effective May 1, 2026 (contract on file). The board also approved a travel request for Niki Cross to attend the "Our Voice, Our Future Advocacy Day" in Columbus on May 8, 2026. All recorded votes on these items were "Aye" by Harry Brady, Tom Dunlap and James R. Morgan.
