Board liaisons provided updates on construction and career-technical center activities.
Mr. Sloan (projects and planning co‑lead) reported work on the elementary school area D addition: concrete pouring, structural steel, roof decking installation, metal stud layout, demolition of the existing gym roof curb, and boiler‑room demo and piping work; crews also disconnected power to existing boilers as part of the project. He said a steel inspection passed and that construction will continue with further updates to be provided.
Mr. Hill reported that the Forbes Road CTC senior certificate ceremony is scheduled for May 13 at Penn Hill Senior High School with two guest tickets per senior family; joint operating committee members and district administrators are invited. He also noted upcoming SkillsUSA competitions, a budget presentation for the CTC and student field trips.
The finance liaison also reviewed key budgetary priorities tied to facilities funding and said the budget includes about a 1% tax increase dedicated to long‑term facility needs; the district intends to restore maintenance projects and fund new buses.
No formal motions or votes on construction projects were recorded in the public portion of the meeting; the liaisons said they will continue to provide updates.
