The Madera County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the minutes from its previous meeting and recessed into a closed session to confer with labor negotiators, the board said.
Chair McCauley moved to approve the minutes; a second was called and the motion passed on a 5-0 roll-call vote. The roll call recorded votes from Supervisor Porteous, Supervisor Wanhao, Supervisor Rogers, Supervisor Gonzales and Chair McCauley in favor of approval.
The board opened the public-comment period but heard no comments. As Chair McCauley had explained at the start of the session, the board sets aside the first 15 minutes of regular meetings for public comment on matters under the board’s jurisdiction; speakers are limited to three minutes and are asked to print their name and county of residence on a speaker sheet and state both for the record.
The board then recessed into closed session for a conference with labor negotiators under Government Code section 54957.6. The board’s designated representatives named during the closed-session announcement were Deborah Martinez, director of the behavioral health department of social services, and Steve Mendic.
When the meeting reconvened, county counsel reported, “There is no reportable action from your closed session.” The board adjourned shortly thereafter.
