CDC Consultant Whitaker Wright and Tom Perry opened four bids for the CDBG 2024 Wellston Street Improvement Project at the April 1 meeting. The engineer’s estimate for the project was $539,429.00.
Bids received were: Southern Ohio Trenching, $307,332.50; Jackson Brothers Construction, $368,040.00; Axis Civil Construction, $339,992.00; and Wilson Excavation, $390,067.00. Whitaker Wright stated that the county would not make an award that day and requested that the engineer review the bids before any contract decision.
No award was made at the meeting; the engineers’ review and any subsequent recommendation or award were deferred to a later date.
