Chartiers Valley board unanimously approves SRO agreements, construction awards, grants and vendor contracts

The Chartiers Valley Board of School Directors unanimously approved a slate of contracts, grants and construction awards at its March 24 meeting.
The board approved multi-year agreements to provide school resource officers (SROs): an agreement with Collier Township for two SROs covering July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2031, and an agreement with Scott Township for one SRO from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2030. Both motions were moved and seconded and passed by voice vote.
The board also awarded four construction base bids for the Central Administration Area. The board approved: Package 1 to RA Glancey & Sons, Inc. for $1,310,000; Package 4 (fire protection) to Vrabel Plumbing Company, LLC for $62,200; Package 5 (plumbing) to Huckestein Mechanical Service LLC for $57,920; and Package 6 (HVAC, including Alternate 06-001a CMS Controls) to Lugalia Mechanical, Inc. for a total of $676,500 (base bid $557,000 plus Alt 06-001a $119,500). Each award was moved, seconded and passed on a voice vote.
On budget and vendor matters the board approved payments of construction invoices and several vendor agreements and grants. The board approved a two-year substitute-staff replacement agreement with Substitute Teacher Service, Inc., effective July 1, 2026, and a one-year agreement with Red Rover for absence-management and time-tracking software beginning July 1, 2026. The board accepted a Remake Learning Day Grant of $1,000 and a 2025 Kids Run the Nation grant of $750. The board also approved an incentive of $35 per day for staff who assist with after-school supervision and bus monitoring. All motions were approved by voice vote.
Motions to approve the March 10 meeting minutes and education items — including a Credit Recovery Program and a Student Enrollment Agreement with Wesley Schools — also passed unanimously.
