The Board of County Commissioners of Auglaize County reorganized on Jan. 6, electing Commissioner John N. Bergman as president for 2026 and confirming Commissioner Douglas A. Spencer as vice president.
Clerk Erica L. Preston conducted the election at 8:36 a.m. Commissioner David Bambauer moved that John N. Bergman serve as president and Douglas A. Spencer serve as vice president; Commissioner Spencer seconded the motion. A roll call vote recorded Bambauer as “yes,” Spencer as “yes,” and Bergman as absent. The motion carried.
Commissioner Bambauer also moved to retain the Board’s regular-session schedule for 2026: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or until business concluded. Commissioner Spencer seconded; roll call votes matched the earlier election result and the motion carried.
The reorganization was recorded as Resolution No. 26-001 in the Board’s Journal. After the votes, the Board proceeded to distribute other resolutions for signature and to conduct a staff meeting and other agenda items.
The Board adjourned later in the day after completing scheduled business. The full texts of the reorganization resolution and other documents are on file in the Board’s Journal.
