A county staff member briefed the board on closing documents and the required certification under Section 90 for tax anticipation notes (TANs), saying the proposed structure included a tax-exempt portion of $13,624,660 at 4.875% and a taxable portion of $3,375,340 at 6.25%, for up to $17,000,000 in total. The board approved the certification language and authorized the treasurer and commissioners to sign the closing documents so the county can access the TAN program to bridge revenue timing gaps.
The board approved setting aside capital-reserve funds to address a recent fuel leak and soil remediation related to an annex generator. Facilities staff reported the leak had been contained, DES notified and that an initial remediation allotment from capital reserves would be authorized; commissioners approved authorizing staff to begin remediation and to return if additional funds are needed.
