The North Pocono School District Board of Education on April 9 approved a one-year contract with up to three one-year renewals for Armandotte Educational Services, LLC to operate the district's food service program, accepted personnel resignations and leaves as presented, and authorized multiple financial disbursements and routine appointments.
The motion to approve the food-service contract was moved by Pia McLean and seconded from the floor; the board voted in favor. "I have a motion to approve a 1 year contract with up to 3 1 year renewals to Armandotte Educational Services, LLC to operate the district food service program," McLean said as she introduced the item. The board recorded approval of the motion on the meeting record.
The board handled several personnel items under the personnel agenda. Mara Maros presented a motion to accept the resignations listed on the agenda "with regret," and the board voted to approve. The board also approved the leaves listed on the agenda and a set of extracurricular appointments, as well as student placements and agreements as presented.
Finance items included approval of the monthly financial reports and payment of general fund bills (attachment C) and capital project fund disbursements (attachment D). A board member noted one bill that would be reflected in the minutes; otherwise the routine disbursements moved forward as presented.
President's announcements earlier in the meeting noted recent executive sessions and a work session held for personnel and other business. The board president also reviewed the district's public-comment rules, citing Act 93 of 1998, and confirmed no public comments were submitted online or at the microphone.
The board adopted updated district policies recommended through the Pennsylvania School Boards Association process; the president noted that the PSBA offers recurring policy updates and that some language is tailored specifically to North Pocono.
