Mark Ridings, who presented the communications project update on March 18, told the Carter County commission that environmental studies have delayed planned work on the county’s new communications system. Ridings distributed information about the equipment planned for the upgrade and explained the reasons for the study delays.
He said county technicians are working on the existing equipment to keep services running until the new system and hardware come online. During the update Commissioner Aaron Frazier left the meeting early; no vote was taken on the communications project at the session.
Ridings did not provide a specific timetable in the minutes beyond noting the environmental-study delays; the project materials distributed at the meeting include equipment descriptions and a status summary.
