Carter County commission appoints two district commissioners and a constable

The Carter County Board of Commissioners on March 18 unanimously appointed two district commissioners and a constable to fill open seats.
Aaron Frazier nominated Lesley Hughes for the 7th District seat; Kelly Collins seconded the motion to cease nominations and appoint Hughes by acclamation, and the motion carried by electronic vote. Aaron Frazier then nominated Jerry Stout for the 8th District seat; the commission voted to appoint Stout by acclamation. Nancy Brown nominated Shana Brower for 5th District constable, and the commission appointed Brower by acclamation.
Mayor Patty Woodby administered the oath to Lesley Hughes and Jerry Stout at the meeting, after which both took their seats and the commission’s membership increased to 24.
The appointments were made as part of an amended agenda the chair added at the start of the regular session. No formal roll-call objections were recorded; the minutes show the motions carried on unanimous electronic votes as read.
