County signs digital-accessibility quote, OKs coroner investigator and schedules airport bids

Fayette County commissioners on Feb. 17 approved a package of procurement and personnel items: a CivicPlus quote to bring the county website into digital accessibility compliance, a contract for the county coroner’s investigator, acceptance of a floor-mat cleaning quote for county buildings, and authorization to advertise bids for two airport projects.

The CivicPlus implementation includes a one-time AudioEye Managed Implementation fee of $5,463.18 and an annual recurring AudioEye managed service of $4,875.00; the motion to accept the quote passed by roll call. The board also authorized the coroner, Dr. Lenora Fitton, to enter a contract with Jon Fausnaugh to serve as Fayette County Coroner’s Investigator for March 1–Dec. 31, 2026, at $1,250 per month. The cleaning-services quote accepted from Commercial Cleaning Solutions, Inc. covers bi-weekly mat exchanges at eight county buildings at $390.45 per change for two years.

In procurement scheduling the board directed staff to advertise for bids for Airport Apron Pavement Sealing (bid opening April 13, 2026 at 3:00 P.M.) and Airport Wind Cones (April 13, 2026 at 3:30 P.M.), with advertising on March 28 and April 5; the board reserved the right to reject any and all bids. All motions in these items passed by roll call according to the minutes.

Why it matters: the CivicPlus engagement is intended to improve website accessibility for county residents; the coroner-investigator contract formalizes compensation and term for an investigator position; and the airport bid schedule advances capital maintenance procurement.
