The Enumclaw City Council on April 27 approved Resolution 18-72, establishing an assessment reimbursement area to recapture the city's cost for sewer installed as part of the Roosevelt Avenue roundabout.
Katie McKee, city clerk, read the resolution title by request of the mayor. In a staff report, Chris Searcy said the city fronted construction of a gravity sewer line needed for properties near the roundabout and plans to record a late-comers reimbursement agreement against four parcels.
"At the time the roundabout project started, the estimated cost was about $60,000. There were some soil issues and administrative costs, so they are just slightly under $88,000 to be recaptured through this agreement," Chris Searcy said.
Council moved, seconded and approved the resolution by voice vote; no roll-call tally was recorded in the transcript. The resolution will allow the city to record reimbursement obligations against the specified parcels so property owners who connect later will reimburse the city's up-front costs.
City staff said the recommendation aligns with committee reports and that the matter had been reviewed in committee prior to full council action. No additional amendments to the resolution were recorded during the meeting.
