Fairfield Union Local board approves three one-year teacher contracts and several personnel moves

The Fairfield Union Local Board of Education voted to approve three one-year teacher contracts and several personnel moves during its May meeting.
The board approved a one-year contract for Lane Predmore at Bremen Elementary after trustees praised an interview story Predmore shared about supporting a young student’s confidence. Predmore said she was "very excited to be joining the district" and described herself as eager to learn and help students.
The board also approved a one-year contract for Hunter Stewart to teach fourth grade. Superintendent Belleville highlighted Stewart’s prior classroom results, saying his students’ passage rate "was up around 80%," and trustees said his interview demonstrated both rigor and rapport. Stewart told the board he looks forward to building relationships in the district.
A third one-year contract was approved for Brooke Holt, a Fairfield Union graduate who has worked as a substitute in district classrooms. Superintendent Belleville noted the district had been watching Holt’s work for several years and described her as a strong fit for the schools.
Trustees also approved the transfer of Lauren Hahn from kindergarten teacher to an intervention-specialist role for the 2026–27 school year. Belleville explained the move is part of a sequence of internal staffing adjustments prompted by a resignation and other reassignment requests; he said the district is trying to be proactive in filling openings before summer.
The board accepted the resignation of bus driver Ashlyn Vance, effective at the end of her current one-year contract, and approved the substitute teacher and substitute classified lists.
All hiring and personnel motions were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote during the meeting. Several board members offered praise for the new hires’ energy and classroom approach.
Next steps: new hires will finalize employment paperwork and the transfer will take effect in the 2026–27 school year; the district will continue recruiting substitutes over the summer.
