Solano County honors Acting Auditor-Controller Sheila Turgo after 27 years of service

The Solano County Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution Feb. 28 recognizing Sheila O. Turgo for more than 27 years of service in the Auditor-Controller's Office.
Chair Mashburn read Turgo's career milestones, noting her start as a fiscal clerk on Nov. 10, 1997, promotions through accounting and auditing ranks and service as chief deputy auditor-controller and acting auditor-controller. The board moved and ordered the resolution by a 4-0 vote.
A colleague from the Auditor-Controller's Office praised Turgo's mentorship and ability to explain complex accounting, saying she "comes to work each day with compassion, understanding, and love for each person in our office." Turgo thanked supervisors, past bosses, staff and her family and recounted how she began work in Solano County and rose through the department.
After remarks the board invited Auditor-Controller staff and family for photographs; the board presented a plaque of appreciation.
The recognition was ceremonial; no policy or budgetary decisions were made as part of the presentation. The board then moved on to the next agenda items.
