Melissa Richards asked the board to authorize Commissioner Slotnick to sign a Montana Department of Commerce Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) planning grant of $26,250 to support a preliminary architectural report for Seeley Lake Elementary School. Richards said the planning grant would let the school address several health-and-safety concerns and could precede a later facilities application for construction funding.
A commissioner moved to approve the request; the Chair seconded. No public comment followed and the motion carried on a voice vote.
The county will administrate the planning grant. Richards said the department recommended the school after a CDBG pre-application process; staff described the award as a planning-phase grant intended to produce the architectural report that would inform any future facilities application.
The board returned to other agenda items after approving the grant.
